Payment

Pricing for different appointment types is available on the Schedule page.

Payment may be made when scheduling, or at the time of your appointment. Prepayment is required for all first time clients. For all other appointments, cash is strongly encouraged. I also accept personal checks, credit cards, Zelle, Venmo, and Paypal.

I do not accept any form of insurance. Certain plans may allow you to submit an invoice for reimbursement. Please let me know if you need a superbill for your records or to submit to insurance.

For cancellation or rescheduling within 48 hours of your appointment start time I charge 50 percent of the total appointment cost. Same day cancellations and missed appointments are charged the full amount. I'm happy to make emergency and health-related exceptions as needed.

I accept payment for the above charges via Zelle (wilson@wilsonshook.com), Venmo (@wilson-shook) and Paypal (wilson@wilsonshook.com).

Discounts

I have a few discounts available. For sliding-scale work, please see Solidarity.

  • Pay in cash (return visits only): Take $10 off your appointment when paying with cash. Select the “Cash payment discount” add-on when booking your session, then select “Pay Later,” and remember to bring cash to your appointment.

  • Buy in bulk: The Self-Care Package is a prepaid series of four treatments offered at a 15% discount. This is a great way to commit to your wellness and also makes a thoughtful gift. You may add this option to your appointment during online scheduling, or contact me directly if you would like to send this as a gift.

  • Refer a friend or family member and receive your next treatment at $20 off. This discount is only available to existing clients, and may be redeemed once your friend has followed through with their regularly priced session.

  • Treat the whole family: For home visits and on-site work, I offer a discount for multiple sessions same day/same location. When scheduling online, select “Additional client during the same visit.” Additional clients are charged at my normal office rate. For larger groups, please contact me for help scheduling.

  • BYOT: For home visits and on-site work, I offer $20 off the travel fee if you provide your own massage table and linens. Please inform me in advance if you intend to use this discount.

  • Solidarity with Local Workers: Retail, service industry, and blue collar workers who work within Uptown Oakland or the Mission District get $20 off at their neighborhood office. Use the coupon code 94612 (Uptown) or 94110 (Mission) when scheduling online.

COVID-19 Safety

Last updated 12/2022:

I have been vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, and encourage others to do the same. I do not require proof of vaccination for my clients, but I am continuing to take precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. I know we are all have pandemic fatigue at this point, but it’s important for my well-being, and for the well-being of all of my clients, to continue taking basic preventative measures while working in close proximity.

These measures include:

  • everyone wears a mask (non-vented, N-95 or KN-95 preferred);

  • regular COVID testing and symptom vigilance for myself (I encourage you to do the same);

  • limiting the number of people in the office or waiting area;

  • regular cleaning of contact items and surfaces;

  • hand washing before and between clients;

  • air filtration (HEPA and VOC), and fresh air circulation (weather permitting);

  • shower on the day of your appointment;

  • rescheduling is required if you, I, or anyone we are in close contact with has been diagnosed with or shown symptoms of COVID-19 over the last 14 days;

  • late cancellation fees are waived for any health concern.

For in-home appointments, I ask that you please:

  • provide easy access to a restroom with soap and a clean hand towel or paper towels;

  • limit access to the room we will be using so that no pets or other members of your household will be present (unless they are part of the session);

  • open at least one window or door if seasonally appropriate—a cross-breeze is ideal;

Optional:

  • clear a minimum 10 x 10ft space before I arrive so that I don't have to touch your furniture;

  • provide your own clean sheets (twin sheets work best, but larger sizes are OK);

  • outdoor appointments are also available, weather permitting.

If you'd like to know more about how massage therapists have responded to the pandemic, there are useful guidelines on the ABMP website (my professional organization). Please feel free to get in touch with any questions or concerns.
